Finding the right fabric is an important part of apparel development.
For many fashion brands, the fabric has already been selected before production starts. The brand may have a specific fabric specification, a reference garment, or simply a material they already know and prefer.
In these cases, Our job is to help find and source the right material in China.
When You Already Know What You Need
Some customers provide clear fabric requirements, such as:
- 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex
- 180 GSM
- Jersey
- Black
Or:
- 100% Cotton Poplin
- 120 GSM
- White
When the requirements are clear, the process is straightforward:
Specification → Sourcing → Fabric Sample → Confirmation → Development
When You Have an Existing Garment
Sometimes a customer already has a garment and wants to develop a similar product.
For example:
“We want to reproduce this style.”
The garment can be used as a reference for sourcing the fabric and developing the new sample.
We look for suitable fabric options that can achieve a similar look and feel while working with the requirements of the new garment.
In this case, the customer provides the product reference, while we help make it possible in China.
When You Have a Reference Image
A reference image can also be a good starting point.
For example:
“We need a lightweight linen-look fabric.”
Or:
“We are looking for a soft viscose fabric similar to this.”
We can search for several suitable options for your choosing.
The customer can then compare the options and decide which one works best for the product.
The brand understands its own product, customer, style, and market.
Our role is to provide practical sourcing support in China and help turn the customer’s requirements into a manufacturable product.
