The next step is to turn the approved sample into a clear standard that can be followed during bulk production.

Confirming the Production Details

Before production starts, the main details of the garment need to be confirmed.

This includes the approved fabric, trims, measurements, construction and finishing requirements.

The production team needs to work from the same information that was agreed during development.

Preparing for Cutting and Production

Once the materials and production information are ready, the approved pattern is used for cutting, while the approved sample provides a physical reference for the finished garment.

This is important because some details are easier to understand from the actual garment than from written specifications.

Keeping the Bulk Garments Consistent

During production, the focus is on keeping the bulk garments consistent with the approved standard.

Depending on the garment, this can include checking measurements, fabric and colour, sewing quality, construction, finishing, labels and trims.

If an issue is found during production, it needs to be dealt with before the problem continues through the whole order.

Quality Control

Quality control is carried out during production and before shipment.

For some styles, measurements and fit may be particularly important. For others, construction, sewing details or finishing may require more attention.

The purpose is to make sure the finished garments remain consistent with the approved sample and agreed requirements.

That is why the approved sample, pattern, materials and production information all matter after sampling is finished.

The sample becomes more than a sample at this stage.It becomes the reference for the production that follows.
