The Project

A fashion brand approached us with a new women’s leggings style for an upcoming collection.

The info included the design requirements, measurements, construction details and fabric.

We reviewed the style, checked the construction and measurements, and worked with our pattern and sample development resources to make the first sample.

Sample Development

During development, we worked on:

• Pattern and measurements
• Garment shapes
• Fabric characteristics
• Construction details
• Sewing methods
• Trims and finishing

After the first sample was reviewed, the required changes were discussed. This process continued until the garment was suitable for bulk production.

For us, The sampling processing record provide a practical basis for production.

Bulk Production

After the sample and materials were confirmed, the style moved into bulk production.

Production was arranged based on the confirmed sample, specifications and materials. During bulk production, we paid close attention to the points identified during sample development. This is one reason we consider sample development an important part of production.

A good sample gives the production team a clearer reference for the final garment.

Quality Control

Quality control is carried out during the production process and before shipment.

The focus depends on the style and may include:

• Measurements
• Fabric and colour
• Sewing quality
• Construction
• Finishing
• Labels and trims
• Overall appearance

Any issues found during production can be discussed and corrected before the goods are shipped.

The project was developed from the initial design requirements through sample development and into bulk production.

It is not simply to find a factory, it’s to have a reliable production team in China who could understand the garment requirements, coordinate the local work and deliver the finished product according to the agreed specifications.
